The Australian Human Rights Commission has published a thorough fact-sheet which summarizes the legislation introduced in Australia, over the past decades, to combat the discrimination and/or harassment of an individual or a peoples.

Federal legislation which are analyzed in this fact-sheet include the Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986, Racial Discrimination Act 1975 and Fair Work Act 2009. These legislations cover various forms of discrimination, with each Act focusing on a respective area, and mainly focusing on discrimination in the workplace.

The relevant Victorian Legislation in relation to discrimination and harrassment, which are the, Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) and Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001 (VIC) are also examined, and the areas these two legislations cover are explained. These mentioned legislations have instituted laws which provide protections for people from discrimination and harrassment in various areas, ranging from place of employment to places of education and sports clubs. 

The other States and Territories of Australia are also analyzed in this fact-sheet, with every relevant legislation on the specific fields analyzed.
